Sonic Bodies: The Queer Love Cushion
An evening of sound, softness, resistance, and connection: what happens when we meet – truly meet – in love, in alliance, in infinity? The Queer Love Cushion is an immersive, performative event format that invites the public into a lively, queer meeting space. Between DJ sets, intimate conversations, and ritual moments, a temporary architecture of care emerges – a space in which bodies, thoughts, and emotions can unfold. At its core are three interwoven queer-philosophical forces: alliance, as an active, political, and emotional practice; infinity, as a queer imaginative force that exists outside of fixed identities and finite limits; and love, as a radical form of self-acceptance and collective care. Through direct personal encounters, the public will become part of a shared experiential realm.
Didine van der Platenvlotbrug is a queer facilitator, artist, and activist from Hamburg who has been working at the intersection of culture, society, and empowerment for over 30 years. She is a co-founder of the Feminité Museum and is involved in numerous queer projects and community structures. As part of the directorial team for Kaputt, Lieben (Thalia Theater), as well as across a variety of workshops, readings, and performances, van der Platenvlotbrug creates spaces that promote visibility, exchange, and collective strength. Her work combines artistic practice with a political approach and lived experiences of care.
Paul Ninus Naujoks is a freelance author, facilitator, and artist from Hamburg, and a powerful contemporary voice: since coming out as a trans man at the age of 16, he has fought tirelessly for the inclusion of trans perspectives and improved queer visibility. In his book Männer & Zerbrechlichkeiten, Naujoks works through both his own personal experiences as well as social issues centred around masculinity. As an activist and speaker, he combines artistic work with education and advocates for greater understanding and equality.
Finna: Where love, rage, snot, and glitter meet clear-eyed statements and queer-feminist empowerment. Finna is a rapper, singer, producer, and network activist who campaigns for sexual self-determination and against homophobia and body shaming. She is a member of the hip-hop collective Fe*Male Treasure and a co-founder of Tour D’Amour, an aid network for refugees that operates along the EU’s external borders. Finna’s debut album ZARTCORE was released by Audiolith Records in 2022, making waves whose impact was felt beyond the rap scene; here too, the same motto applies: “Zartcore” is still hardcore and music remains political!
