Save the Date: Opening Days (June 4–14, 2026)
On June 4, we would like to celebrate the opening of the 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2026 with you! From June 4 to 6, 2026, all eleven exhibitions at the city’s eight participating museums and exhibition venues will open as part of a three-day opening programme.
At the same time, the Opening Days will see the launch of the projects we are supporting as part of the Triennial Expanded, shining a spotlight on Hamburg’s independent photography and art scene.
Together with performances, artist talks, guided tours, screenings and many other opportunities for inspiration and encounters, the first ten days of the festival will form an interdisciplinary opening phase that combines artistic practice with social issues and theoretical reflection.
The detailed programme will be available on our website in early May.
In addition, with Fotosommer we are creating an open platform for the independent scene. To accompany the 9th Triennial, we aim to highlight exhibitions and events centred on photography across Hamburg, going beyond the official programme. Members of Hamburg’s photography and art scene can independently register their projects between June 5 and September 22, 2026 via an online form. This will create a growing overview of photographic activities in the city – and a broader picture of what photography in Hamburg is today.
