Artist Talk with Marystela Camacho, Christine Chávez & Gisela Cánepa (Theme Day “Resonating Images from Peru”)
To mark the opening of the exhibition Resonating Images from Peru, the MARKK cordially invites you to an exciting programme of events on June 7.
From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM the curators Gisela Cánepa (PUC, Peru), Walther Maradiegue (University of Bonn), Christine Chávez (MARKK), and Mark Sealy, the artistic director of the 9th Triennial of Photography, will discuss the exhibition’s content and the collaborative curation practice between Peru and Europe that led to its creation. This discussion will take place in English.
At 1:00 PM, there will be a Spanish-language curator's tour of the exhibition will begin, led by Walther Maradiegue and Gisela Cánepa, followed by a tour in German at 2:00 PM. Both tours will offer in-depth insights into the photographs on display and their cultural contexts.
At 3:00 PM, there will be an artist talk in English and Spanish with the Peruvian photographer and artist Marystela Camacho, moderated by Christine Chávez (MARKK) and Gisela Cánepa (PUCP).
