Sonic Bodies: yung_womb & Nissa Carrington (SLIC Unit)
During the Opening Days, the Sonic Bodies event series invites key figures from Hamburg’s cultural and music scene to the festival centre of the 9th Triennial to explore the themes of Alliance, Infinity and Love through performance, music and discussion with the audience. The series sees itself as an open space of resonance between art, sound and urban society – as a place of encounter, listening and collective experience.
SLIC Unit co-founders yung_womb and Nissa Carrington move effortlessly between soulful selections, global club sounds and bass-heavy rhythms. Their musical approach blends diasporic soundscapes, Black electronic music and transnational club cultures – fluid, physical and always with an eye on the dancefloor.
