Oksana Yushko – Migratory Restlessness
In an open, free-flowing conversation with the artist Oksana Yushko, the curatorial team introduces the exhibition Oksana Yushko – Migratory Restlessness. The site-specific installation in the 40ft container, located on the Deichtorhallen’s forecourt, illustrates the entangled systems of human and non-human mobility and global (commodity) cycles.
Oksana Yushko (b. Ukraine) works with photography, video, sculpture, and installations. Many of her works were created in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and the Baltic states, and use documentary, anthropological, and sociological approaches to explore the entangled relationship between culture and nature as well as the complexity of border regimes. She is currently studying photography under Tobias Zielony at HFBK Hamburg.
