Opening of the 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2026

From 8:00 PM, we would like to celebrate the opening of the 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2026 with you. Three exhibitions will open simultaneously: Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other (Hall for Contemporary Art), Cocktail Prolongé: F.C. Gundlach Special (F.C. Gundlach Collection) as well as Abdulhamid Kircher – Rotting from Within and Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah – Residual Sky Under Contamination (PHOXXI. Temporary House of Photography).

This opening event marks the official start of the festival and brings together artists, curators, partners and visitors.

The evening will be accompanied by music from DJ sets curated by ByteFM in the festival centre on the lawn in front of the Deichtorhallen, as well as the Born2Sing Choir. The Hamburg-based BIPoC- and LGBTQ+-centred collective was founded in 2024 by Mèlle Simoni and Anh Khoa Trần under the umbrella of SalutDeluxe e.V. The choir combines artistic quality with a clear focus on community, participation and collective well-being, and has quickly established itself as a fixture on the German music scene.
