Still a Kid (54min, 2024), a film by Maxi Hachem, delves into the complex dynamics of a Turkish-German family across three generations. From their struggles with immigrating, to facing patriarchal violence and inherited trauma, the film spans three years, set between Berlin and rural Antalya, Turkey. The film’s protagonist is artist Abdulhamid Kircher, who grapples with reconciling with his once estranged father through his photographic practice.
The screening is followed by a Q&A with Maxi Hachem and Abdulhamid Kircher that is moderated by Nadine Isabelle Henrich.
