"Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other" – Guided tour with Bettina Freimann
What connects 30 artistic positions from different parts of the world? Bettina Freimann, Project Director of the 9th Triennial, invites visitors to join her for a tour of the exhibition Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other at the Hall for Contemporary Art at the Deichtorhallen. Curated by London-based curator and author Mark Sealy, the exhibition serves as the conceptual and poetic starting point for this year’s Triennial. It brings together 30 positionsfrom a transglobal community of artists – from Australia, Japan and Jamaica to Greenland. Marginalized voices encounter established contemporary practices and historical perspectives, photography meets video works.
The three central concepts of Alliance, Infinity, Love explore possibilities of coexistence, the boundlessness of human experience, and the transformative power of care and connection. The works reflect on personal experiences and stories, and speak to the joy of community, tenderness, dignity and intimacy. At the same time, they explore the potential of photographyto connect, transform and heal.
