Mark Sealy is the artistic director of the 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2026. The London-based curator and author has dedicated his career to questions of decolonisation, representation and cultural violence in photography. As director of Autograph ABP (Association of Black Photographers), he has been curating international exhibitions, initiating residency programmes and publishing groundbreaking publications since 1991. He has published the books: Decolonising the Camera: Photography in Racial Times; Photography: Race, Rights and Representation and A Lens on Liberation: Photography as Resistance. Mark Sealy holds a PhD in Photography and Cultural Violence from Durham University and is Professor of Rights and Representation at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
